The second favorite place I will miss is this place. As a former Red Bluff resident, I was fascinated by ethnic food - especially Thai. And this place delivers a wonderful epicurean delight if you love spicy. But you must request it otherwise you will get the mild versions. One of my favorites here are the beef dishes. The chicken is okay but the curry chicken is a party in your mouth! The prices here are moderate for the area but well worth the cost of the dishes. Across from Tractor Supply and next to a mini mall on Main Street, this is a treasure among chain restaurants.

Thai House is located across from Tractor Supply. They have a parking lot in front of the restaurant. I came here to grab dinner with my husband's family. Thai House is a very clean restaurant with lots of tables. We got seated immediately when we walked in. Looking at the menu, there are appetizers, salads, noodles, rice dishes, and meat dishes to order. We decided to share the following dishes. Pork Fried Rice - This reminded me of the typical Chinese fried rice. It was very good. Pineapple Fried Rice - This tasted different than normal. There was more of a curry flavor. Orange Chicken - The outside of the chicken was very crispy. The texture and flavor of the skin reminded me of the 'fried bananas' dessert. This dish was a bit too sweet. Cashew Nut Chicken - This dish was very good. There was lots of veggies mixed with the huge slices of chicken like water chestnuts, corn, etc. Overall, Thai House is a decent place. The portion size of each dish is a bit small compared to other places.

While probably not a Thai food expert, I do very much enjoy it and have visited a dozen or so in the north state. The food is among the best I've had anywhere else! I particularly like their Cashew Nut, Basil Chicken, and Pad Thai. My wife loves their Pad See Ew with their glass noodles. While their food is fantastic, the service is phenomenal. Being a local and return customer helps I suppose, but they always remember what we like and how we like it. Very friendly and attentive without any hovering. The atmosphere is nice and clean. Not super fancy, but there is some definite cultural appeal.

One of my favorite places to eat when I visit Red Bluff. They always make us feel like we are eating at a friends house or relatives house, not a restaurant. I like that the chicken is all white meat and not nasty, fatty, cheap meat some places use.
(5)Patrick M.
Not worth the stop, IMHO. We eat a lot of Thai food and the quality here is iffy and the price is high. If you go here, the curry is good but avoid the chicken sate, and the crying tiger beef. Some of the highlights included a dirty spoon, a dirty drinking glass and a very dirty tea cup, no bowls for the curry soup, but we did get the soup spoons. Go figure. YMMV.
(1)Paul D.
We stopped in for lunch on our way back from Oregon. We ordered the lunch special. It came with a delicious Thai soup and tasty salad with home made dressing. I ordered the glazed orange Chicken which was perfectly fried with real orange juice glaze. For an extra dollars you can order brown rice which is great. Food was delicious.
(4)Ashley L.
Very clean, owner is so sweet, quick with to go orders, and the Pad Thai is on point! ;)
(5)Anna M.
We just moved to the general area and wanted to check out some local ma & pa places. What a great intro. I had their avocado curry: super good flavor, right about of spicy, got it with tofu, great mixed of veggies. My husband got pineapple curry and was very happy with his dish. We also got Bags of Gold which are deep fried wonton bag like things filled with chicken and peanuts... Also super tasty
(4)Paul S.
Tried two new-to-me dishes tonight. Glad I did. Had their noodle soup(beef) and Thai chow mien (pork). Their noodle soup was very Pho-ish and VERY good - better than any Pho I've had a long time. I'll come here when I'm craving Pho. The Thai chow mien was (and this may sound like an exaggerating but it's not) the BEST Asian noodle dish I've ever had. Ever. Not sure what they put in it, crack maybe?, but it was almost too good. Will be soon for more.
(5)Scott E.
Outside is rather unappealing. Inside the personnel are very inviting. Service was five star. Food was good and an excellent value.
(4)Dustin P.
Prob the only Thai spot in Red Bluff, haha. i would come back for Thai food if i pass through the area again.
(3)Julie D.
Love this place. The Tom Kha is perfection as are the fresh rolls. Pad Thai is perfect too. They will serve it to you as mild or hot as you like. I'm a weenie and otder mild. I order the same thing 'cos there's no reason to want anything else. For me at least. I'm quite certain anyone else would stretch out and try the currys, I cannot abide the smell of it, which sucks! !! I love the food , atmosphere is what you'd expect in a small town. Amoreau took care of us there each time She's a gem. I go as often as my palate takes me. We're ftom Bay Area and grew to adore Thai food there, it's sweet to indulge my tastes for this once again .
(5)Padma Harika P.
Good food !! Loved the chicken satay and orange chicken. Warning: Medium spice is a lot spicy
(4)R M.
Decided to try this place out tonight since the pics of their dishes looked decent. Sure enough, we tried the pad see ew which was very good. Asked for medium spice and received none, however. Also their papaya salad (hot) was very good. They use this roasted chili flakes instead of fresh chilies and it was awesome. Not extremely hot. I would rate it 6-7 out of 10 (ten being the hottest). On the flip side, the "roasted duck curry" was something else... We had high hopes since it sounded good with lots of different veggies. Never had duck at a thai restaurant before. The curry did not taste anything like a thai curry. It was really really cloyingly sweet and not well seasoned. The duck was chewy and not fresh. DO NOT ORDER THE ROASTED DUCK CURRY. So bad. They charge 1 dollar more for brown rice also "because it's healthy." Would go back for lunch to try their thai food. I wouldn't recommend the "chinese" food since it is not their specialty. Apprehensive about trying their other curries now.
(3)Road H.
Don't let the beige older exterior fool you... Inside it is clean, Thai decorations, and several tables. Great service and the food was fresh and prepared quickly. I had drunken noodles with vegetables (vegetarian) and tried the pot stickers as well. Pot stickers really more like steamed but delicious and very pretty on the serving dish. Will go again when in area. Recommended that you give it a try!
(3)Punahele S.
Great little place. The hostess/waitress was very nice and the yellow curry and pineapple curry was delicious
(5)Kishy K.
Really nice food. Amazing. The server was very polite. Nice place. We ordered yellow curry and panang curry and they were...delicious !! Never had such good thai food. We blessed the cook for making such awesome food. The rice was served in star, apple and heart shape :-D
(5)David F.
Found this place randomly on yelp when I was getting gas off the freeway. The place looks scary from the outside but the food was great and the service was perfect. Very nice people working there!
(4)Kevin B.
I arrived in town about 5 pm Christmas day. After checking into the motel I discovered that was a problem, at least when trying to find some place eat that was open. After driving around about 10 minutes I see Thai House is open, schweet! I walk in and see the nicely decorated interior yelp.com/biz_photos/thai… I'm quickly shown to my table and i look over the menu. I went to my standard (dare I say fav?) Thai dish, pad see ew with pork ($7.95). yelp.com/biz_photos/thai… The texture and flavor was on point, YUM! I also decide a curry dish was in order, so I choose the green curry with chicken ($8.95). yelp.com/biz_photos/thai… It was exactly what was needed on a cold rainy night, just delicious! Service was quite good in spite of a slight language barrier.

In addition to being watered down with 80% coconut milk, this place gave me food poisoning on numerous occasions. I enjoyed the prospect of having Thai in red bluff so I was going probably 2+ a week in the last year. I was mildly irritated that the food was so watered down, but there were no options other than this in town, so I stuck it out... Then, I started getting sick. REALLY sick after eating there. Three times, and I went in one last time, hoping it wasn't their food and I saw a Roach crawling under the table by the door. I have considered reporting it, because from the other reviews, it seems like they may have somewhat of a problem with cleanliness. I have been working in food and safety service for 10 years, and i know how easy it is to contaminate food, and this, is a safety hazard. The service is okay, the owner is very pushy, and follows up with you if you haven't been in for a while in a manner that make you very uncomfortable.
(1)Chris C.
I'm in town for business for one day, and I don't come to this often. Got the yellow chicken curry. It was just OK and got the job done. The curry was watery and not super flavorful. Service was good though, but the place was empty at 7:30 on a Friday night. If I really wanted Thai food in this area I'd come back, but I'd try other restaurants in the area before coming back.
(3)David J.
Had the green curry lunch special. I've had a lot of Thai green curry around the country, and it's one of my favorite meals. This was very average. Not bad, but not memorable at all. Kind of just above bland. Wouldn't come back for it. Friend got the teriyaki chicken and liked it.
(3)Rutvij S.
The Veg Chow Mein and Veg fried rice were really nice. Good place to have lunch/dinner close to Lassen.
(4)Ian P.
My wife and I often use Yelp to help us decide where to eat in new towns while traveling. With that in mind I hope this helps. The building is small seating maybe 40-50. The waitress we had was very polite and friendly. She was a bit overwhelmed when we were there as she was alone in the dining room with 4 other tables and lots of to go orders. She did her best to keep up and we appreciated it. The service was a bit slow, but we at least knew why and it wasn't from a lack of effort. The food variety was good. I would even say great based on the size of the town. The taste and quality was also very good. There was one dish we ordered that we didn't care for but it was also something that we have never tried before and had nothing to compare it against. I would most definitely return again. We enjoyed the food and had no issue with the atmosphere.
(4)G R.
I'm pretty sure it's changed hands again. I ate there back in August and whoever made it went totally overboard on the coconut milk.....it was gross. Their chicken satay was off too. Its too bad but at this rate they won't last.
(1)Fran C.
We have never been disappointed here! We really enjoy their Curry dishes, especially the yellow Curry! The soup or salad is a hard choice, as both are equally good! The staff is friendly, service is great and price is very reasonable !
(5)Enyioma E.
I hope this was a bad day for them but I should have been a little suspicious when the food came out so early. If you're vegan/vegetarian this place is not for you. The food was stale. ..srsly. The tofu and the glass Noodles were stale. Now I'm gonna have to take measures to make sure I don't get sick. I also asked for super spicy food and not a drop of spice or taste was to be found in my meal. Go somewhere else.
(1)Odette L.
Found this place through Yelp and I have to say. Their food is not too shabby! I ordered the Pad Thai and I requested a couple of things differently from the usual Pad Thai and it was pretty good. They serve the lunch with a tiny plate of salad and soup. The place needs work on decoration especially from the outside.
(4)Rosemary O.
It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The food was bland and all the dishes tasted pretty similar to each other. The service was friendly and fast, though. But, there is definitely better out there.
(3)Casey S.
I eat a lot of Thai and was pleasantly pleased here. Medium hot meant medium hot! The drunken noodles were great and the red curry just what I'm used to.. Good option while doing business in red bluff
(4)Feli D.
I gotta say, when we first drove up at 2 pm on a Saturday we were hesitant. The parking lot had one car in front which we assumed was the workers. But we proceeded because the Yelp reviews were great! Well, Yelp did not fail us! This small place is definitely a mom and pop restaurant. The service lacked a little Especially since we were one of the only other parties there, but the food definitely made up for it. The food was so amazing and inexpensive! I wish I could pick up this place and bring it home with me. Thy even do lunch combos! I have Been to a few other Thai places and they always do only a la carte which makes the food very pricey. Me and my guy ordered 2 lunch combos: yellow curry shrimp and chicken chow mein. These came with a spicy soup and salad and side of white rice. The soup was amazing! The yellow curry shrimp I was licking the bowl and the chow mein out of this world! Even the sides did not fail to impress! I am so glad we found this place ! It is definitely a treasure of the small town!
(5)Todd K.
Ok.... I'm guessing that this is probably the best in the area but not the best for the state of Calif. Spicy chicken coconut soup not that spicy....chicken overcooked to me. Also had drunken noodles with pork...tasted and looked like chicken in the soup...asked and found out it was chicken. Was returned to the kitchen but what came back looked very similar . Very few big rice noodles and everything was overcooked . Also had grilled beef salad.... The beef looked like the chicken too. Maybe they boil all of their meat. I do not recommend this place unless that's all you got.... I would fix at home in that case. I make a great Spicy Chicken coconut soup. Find the ingredients at an Asian market and make yourself.

This place is great! The real deal. Fabulous flavors, great service, comfortable ambiance.
(5)K K.
I would not go here again. My husband and I felt like the waitstaff did not care about us at all. They did not bring us what we had tried to order, and when we asked about it, they acted like it was not their problem. We also asked for food that was not spicy, and what they brought us was so spicy that we could not finish eating it. They came over to ask us if the food was too spicy, but if you know that the food might be too spicy, then why wouldn't you just make it less spicy in the first place? Anyway, we left the restaurant feeling really frustrated and I have been feeling physically sick for the past day from the food. I eat Thai food all of the time, and have never had an experience as bad as this before.
(1)S C.
Do not judge a book by it's cover... This place looks a little run down from the street... but the food and service is incredible. The vegetables and meat are always fresh and served in traditional style. As some one who has actually visited Thailand and consider themselves to be a bit of a Thia food snob, I highly recommend this place. I have been there multiple times and each time order something different and have not had a bad dish. The Thia Ice Tea is a must...
(5)Christine T.
Pad-thai and cucumber salad, nice service all hit the spot after a long day of travel back home.
(4)Randolph M.
I was happy to see the lunch specials came with soup and salad. I was not happy after tasting them. Soup was very thin, with an odd taste. Couple of spoonfuls, then I proceeded to the salad. Lettuce was white instead of green, and the dressing was again odd tasting. Pushed both plates away. Being extremely familiar with many Thai restaurants, I still couldn't identify the off taste of both items. With a great deal of trepidation, I slowly eased in to my Spicy Fried Rice. Much to my surprise, it was wonderful! Couldn't stop eating until I finished it. Julie's Red Curry with pork, apparently was also quite good. Come for the main dishes, but good luck with the soup and salad. Don't know if this was an aberration, or the norm.
(3)Sophie S.
Fresh food. Tasty veggie dishes - hit the spot after all the heavy eating we've done on our road trip. Not best thai ever but definitely a solid meal especially given the size of the town. The service was super quick and the place had about four other tables when we walked in. We got spicy food when we asked for it - not spiciest ever but it worked for us! One reviewer said it wasn't so maybe he likes it crazy hot - in which case you probably do need to emphasize.
(4)J S.
I usually hate Thai food. If someone asks where we should eat, I always say "anything but Thai." It's really just because I don't like coconut milk. But last night I wanted something cheap that wasn't fast food or Mexican, so I came online for reviews and saw that this little spot was rated pretty highly for cheap food. I put my usual reservations aside and went for it. Ordered the spring rolls which were pretty good even if they weren't what I was expecting. Peanut sauce was delish and the vegetables were fresh. The Pad Thai was also pretty tasty (even with coconut milk) but not quite as spicy as I would have wanted. I kinda wish I had the option of adding the spiciness myself. Definitely worth the price!! I would totally come back here if I wasn't moving very far away.
(5)Mister B.
Driving thru town and stopped because of the YELP reviews. Pumpkin Curry was super. Pad Thai was okay. Service was friendly and quick. Prices were inexpensive. It's a good value.
(4)Brittany A.
Honestly, I don't even want to give this one star. This is the worst Thai food I've ever had in my entire life--by far. I couldn't even eat much of it because it was so bad. I've had Thai in Hawaii, Southern California, and oregon--so I know what I'm talking about--especially when this place falls under the line of "gross." I came here with my cousin on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was dead. I knew we should've walked out but my cousin insisted this that this place was great. And it was weird because they served our food after 5 minutes of ordering it--and we ordered 3 dishes. My guess is that they cook everything in larger quantities and put it in some fridge in the back and warm it up. Also: their chicken tasted like crap. I don't even know if it WAS chicken..! I don't think I've ever been so negative about a restaurant's food--but do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. And then I woke up this morning feeling sick--all thanks to the Thai food. It amazes me when restaurants use the crappiest forms of ingredients and combinations and think that they can get away with it. Nobody is going to eat their food. Increase the quality and taste, and people will come.
(1)Yo M.
Good stuff! We stopped here on our way to Oregon after reading the Yelp reviews and were quite pleased. The Pumpkin Curry & Pad Thai were both great, and the Thai Iced Teas were large. I think we'll be back!
(4)Eric F.
I like my Thai food to burn my lips for an hour after I leave, so I always order spicy. I don't know if it's just an unsaid rule between the people who cook Thai, but it's rare to find a place that will add the right amount of spice when a white guy asks for it hot. Overall this little joint seems to have a lot going on. 11am the tables were filled with hungry patrons enjoying the cheaply priced lunch specials. I ordered drunken noodle, my go to Thai dish. Aside from the noodles being a little undercooked the food was on par, or better then most other Thai places. They did get the spicy down tho! I'll admit my lips tingle and I got the hiccups for a minute. Both good signs. I would give this place three stars because of it's price and location, but the spring roll that came with my lunch was just so darn good another star had to be awarded.
(4)Logan G.
Don't let it's modest hole-in-the-wall appearance fool you, this place is wonderful. The dishes are served family style, so for a party of four I'd suggest ordering three dishes and maybe an appetizer. Portions are fairly large. Their scale of "spicy" is a Thai scale, not American - Medium spicy packs a bit of a punch. Bonus points because this place was the only restaurant we could find that was open on the fourth of July! for its price-range, this place is absolutely wonderful.
(4)Sally H.
Oh no. Stopped in today on our way back from the coast. Were looking forward to our Thai oasis in Red Bluff and then saw the ABC notice for a change in liquor license ownership in the window and no cars out front. Ordered Pad Thai to be cautious. Never had anything like it and not in a good way. Pink and overly sweet and gooey. Sadly, we need a new lunch place in that area.
(1)S M.
We drove by Red Bluff after lunch hour and both of us were hungry. We saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was good value: the lunch specials come with salad and spring roll for $5.95 (shrimp plus $1.) The food itself was ok. I had green curry with shrimp. I asked for spicy but it was pretty mild, and I would have liked a little more basil. My husband had Mussamun curry with pork, a little bit too sweet to his liking. We both had Thai ice tea- the size was generous and it worked well with the food. Together the bill was under $20. It is not gourmet but if we happen to drive by Red Bluff again during lunch hour, we would not mind to stop by.
(3)Howard G.
I had the lunch special, Pad Thai with shrimp add green tea, generous amount of shrimp and tasty nice spicy taste. $9 plus tip Returned for same meal one week later and the shrimp were terrible tasting - mexican kind and were barely edible. I will not return
(1)Jesse K.
What a great little treasure right in the heart of Red Bluff, CA. Great service. Great Pad Thai (my standard test for new Thai restaurants). This place is worth a return visit.
(4)Justin I.
I'm not a spicy food eater. In all honesty, when I eat spicy food, I pay for it for a few days. The Thai House is the exception to the rule. I don't have the stones to order thai hot, but I do order the heat level right below that. My wife turned me onto thai food about three months ago and now they know me by name and don't have to ask what we want. Lunch Special Panang Chicken medium (for me) and Thai Hot (for my wife). Let's just say that I've had to give up playing poker on a weekly basis in order to pay for this addiction to their food. I have traveled the world when I was in the Navy. I've had authentic Thai Food. If you were magically transported to this place and didn't know it was smack dab in the middle of Red Bluff in far northern California, you wouldn't know that you weren't in Thailand. It's that good. Like from "Friday After Next" Food so good it'll make you wanna smack yo mamma good! Oh did I mention that the lunch special is like $5.95. and I've got a big gut. their lunch specials don't disappoint. If you are from out of town, trust a Local when I say that this place is a must stop and eat till you explode kind of restaurant. They are friendly, quick, and give big servings. If I could give more stars, I would.
(5)David G.
We stopped here for lunch while driving up to Oregon for the weekend. We both ordered lunch plates - me the garlic pepper chicken, my partner the Pad Thai. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. Lunch plates here come with a little salad and a cup of soup - neither of which were worth eating. Anyway, Ok Thai food but not great. Good value for lunch at $6 per person. I might stop here again on a road trip if I was in the mood for Thai food. Definitely not as good as you can get in SF (or, I presume, Thailand) unless the place is significantly better if you order off the menu.
(3)Buzz F.
Not the best Thai restaurant on the West Coast of These United States of America, but a very nice dining establishment by Dread Bluff standards. The spicy basil duck was delicious, as was the shrimp salad with a chili lime dressing. The curry was better than average, in my unrefined opinion. There was an order of ginger beef something-or-other on our table that TL and Katie T said was pretty much inedible. TL narrowed it down to the ginger, which apparently tasted like it had been "kimcheed" in a solution of lye and Palmolive. I took a pass, so even though I trust TL's and KT's palates implicitly, in fairness to Thai House, I can't allow the definitely PMS-influenced and likely stress-influenced hearsay about that one dish to affect my review. Nice ambiance -- complete with amusing Thai music videos on the flat screen TV and the portrait of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the wall -- once you get inside. Outside, it's South Main Street in Dread Bluff at its worst.
(4)Bob H.
Had the pad Thai which was very good, although I ordered it spicy, it wasn't very. Only problem was after my meal, a cockroach crawled across my table. I've been to Thailand and although I wanted an authentic Thai experience, this was a little too authentic!
(2)Jose O.
Really, seriously??? This is watered down Thai food... Drive to Chico and go to Chada if you want good Thai!
(1)Tessa R.
Great place, Its clean, has reasonable prices, very nice staff, I usually get the Basil Beef and I like it spicy! Its great so is the Thai iced tea. The spring rolls are to die for. I am very picky and I only eat certain things but ive never had one bad thing here.
(5)Bob R.
Under new management. They don't have a liquor license yet, so no Singha beer with my spicy Thai food. I was not very impressed with the food. The fresh rolls were good and so was the sweet and sour salmon. The crispy duck with basil, not so crispy and overly salted. The decor is nothing special.
(2)Tiffany S.
After being recommended to this restaurant by our hotel manager and reading the reviews on Yelp, my family and I decided to check out Thai House. We started off with a chicken satay, followed by chicken pad thai, beef mussamun curry, and an order of brown rice. The chicken satay was delicious - the meat was very savory and done to perfection. The peanut and cucumber sauces were good as well. The chicken pad thai, however, raised a bit of skepticism as it did not look like traditional pad thai (you had to pay $2 extra for the shrimp, and it lacked the lime slices and peanuts that normally garnish the dish), but upon tasting it, we decided that it was very well done and delicious. The mussamun curry was my favorite dish - though the beef was a little dry the flavors were very savory. The brown rice, however, was another story. We decided upon smelling it that it had already gone bad. The waiter apologized and replaced it with white rice. Pros: tasty entrees, good service, not too crowded on a Saturday night, reasonable prices Cons: portions seemed smaller than expected after reading the previous reviews, bad rice, slow service (only 1 waiter was working). All in all, this was not the best Thai food I have ever eaten, nor was it the worst. I give it 3 stars, perhaps 4 if the brown rice hadn't been cooked some time ago and simply reheated when ordered.
(3)Jen B.
Shockingly good for a little town like Red Bluff. Friendly service, excellent food. I have never had anything from this place that wasn't really delicious. I'd recommend the Crying Tiger, one of the more expensive menu items but you won't find tastier beef anywhere else in town.
(5)R. H.
We stopped for lunch on our way up I-5. The food was really good. The restaurant seems to be family-run, and the interior is very comfortable and nicely furnished (given the outside is nothing special). We enjoyed the three dishes we had, and we thought the (obligatory) Phad Thai was some of the best ever. I would go out of my way to eat here. Friendly service!
(5)Tanner J.
Best Thai food in town! Ok, so it is the only Thai food, but still. I go to the Thai House every Friday for lunch. The wait staff (Usually Satawat or Jessica) are very attentive and friendly. Even during a busy lunch rush, food comes out quickly and very hot. Vegetarians are welcome and you can choose to make anything mildly spicy to blazing hot. Lunch specials are $6 a plate and range from several types of curry to more simple sweet and sour chicken. While the specials are a steal at $6, they won't satisfy a big eater. I recommend all the curries, Cashew Nut, Spicy Basil, and Eggplant Chicken.
(4)Daddy O.
OMG. The best Thai food I have ever eaten. In a tiny little town of 13,000 in North Central California, no less. The food here was so delicious I literally had to have someone restrain me to keep from overeating. Think Monty Python..."it's wafer thin!" I literally felt like that man. Anyway. The food here was rich, delicious, perfectly seasoned, and CHEAP! I think we all got out of there for about 12 bucks or so, including our beers. I'm totally coming back next time I'm in Red Bluff.
(5)Keith H.
Pad See Ewe and Basil Beef were both great. Really nice people. Fast Service
(4)Chas D.
Having been to Red Bluff four or five times the past same number of years for work, I was not excited about the food prospects on returning. I checked on Yelp and found three reasonable candidates and settled on Thai House. Driving up after dark to the non-descript building my heart sank when I saw the big "Under New Ownership" banner hanging from the front. We were the first customers on a chilly Monday night not long after the holidays -- probably not a big going out to dinner night. The host quickly ran and turned on the heat as we entered and the room heated up quickly (I have to say I appreciated the energy saving of not heating the whole place until you have a customer!). That aside, despite my trepidations of whether under new ownership the restaurant would live up to its previous reputation, everything was spot on delicious! I would agree that it's on par with good Thai food in Seattle (I'm from Seattle). I'm afraid I can't recall the names of what we ate, but we had a shrimp/curry soup, a steak salad, flat rice noodles with chicken and house sauce, and a roast duck and pineapple curry. All were excellent. We had one person who was apprehensive about too much "heat" so we ordered them all 3-star (out of 5). At three they sported noticeable heat but were perfect for our lightweight. Four or five might be better for those who want some real, forehead-sweating punch. Portions were generous, and the price very affordable ($7-10 per dish). The place was clean with interesting Thai decor. Terrific service. All in all a very pleasant surprise to my Red Bluff trip.
(4)Amy L.
One of the best Thai restaurants I've been to in awhile. Tom kha gah was sooo good as was the duck curry, crying tiger was pretty good too.. Got everything at medium+ spicy and could have been a tad bit spicier in the curry but i'd rather play it safe then have a face full of fire

I love the Drunken Noodle. I order mine with Tofu "medium" spicy. Every time my husband and I visit we are greeted right away with wonderful smiles. I've also ordered the fresh spring rolls and was pleasantly surprised with the variety of flavors

This is fabulous Thai place! I have had lunch many times there with never a complaint. Today I got the Red Curry to go. As I recall it said it had zuchini in it, which it had not. I requested mild but it was more like medium. With my bit of whining, this place is so great! I give it 4 stars for if in the city, but since it is Red Bluff where there are few places to eat, it is a BIG 5 Stars! it is a must to stop at if traveling down the I-5 corridor if you are craving some Thai Food!

A buddy and I were on our way back from a spring ski tour on Mt Lassen and looking for some good food. My iPhone told me that this place got 5 stars all around so we had to give it a try. Best Thai Food I have ever eaten? No. Better than any I've had in Seattle, San Francisco or East Bay? Definitely not. Thai house is a good restaurant, but I don't think it is deserving of 5-stars or "Woohoo, as good as it gets" according to Yelp. A solid option if you're rolling through Red Bluff and not in the mood for fast food. Definitely recommended. "A-OK"

Pretty good Thai food for Red Bluff! The veggies were a bit undercooked, and some of the rice was hard, but overall, the food was not bad. The place looked small from the outside, and it was the same inside. The tables were close, which wasn't a problem when we got there, but when the lunch crowd hit, it got crowded. There was only one waiter/host, but he seemed to keep on top of things pretty well for us (which was easy, since there was only 1 other couple when we arrived). Not sure how he did when it was getting busy as we left. We wanted the 'golden Wings" as an appetizer, but was told they don't have them anymore (despite still being on the menu). My wife got the mild Cashew Chicken which was great, I had the medium spicy Garlic Chicken, which was a tad bland, but okay overall. The dinner came with a small cup of soup and a salad, both of which we really enjoyed. I'll be stopping by again when we are in the area!

The food was great at this place for a long time. About 1.5 years ago they changed owners. I ordered the tofu satay and got fried tofu-no sauce, so I sent it back and was glad I did. My co worker had ordered her lunch as well. She took it back to work and began eating and found a very dead whole cockroach in the food. Nasty. I won't eat there and don't recommend it unless you like bugs in your food.

Excellent Thai Food - as good as any I've had in Seattle, San Francisco or East Bay. More Family Style portions and service. For Red Bluff I thought it was quite good, but truly urban snobs might not like the building or location - but that's their loss. Worth the stop, and better than fast food. Huge portions - ordered two things and it was easily dinner for two hungry people

Excellent Thai food! We were driving through No Cal and chose this place based on a Yelp recommendation. The food was delicious; there were vegetarian choices, too. Service was excellent and all our requests were met.

Consistently very good! Lots of vegetarian options.

This is one of of those hidden gems (even though it is on Main Street). I love this place and the people are super nice, as hard as they may be to understand. A great go-to dish is the Pad Thai with beef or vegetables, one of my absolute favs!

Ok, so it looks like a hole from the outside but this place is clearly "where it's at" in Red Bluff. I was in town on a business trip that had me traveling from Medford, OR to Sacramento, CA and was looking for some decent dinner. God bless Yelp cause I never would have gone in if I hadn't read all the recommendations here. Anyway, I had the yellow curry with chicken (mild) and it was fantastic. I'm, not a huge spicy eater but this place has several levels you can order with any dish...calm, mild, medium and hot. I figured calm would be boring but I know myself well enough not to meddle with medium or hot. The mild was a perfect mix of sweet from the coconut milk and heat from the curry spices. Yum! Portions are huge, there was more than enough for two people. I love that you can order all different kinds of curry (yellow, red, green, etc.) and then pick the protein you want with it (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, etc.) I love having all the options...and If I'm ever back through Red Bluff I can't wait to try out another dish...everything looked and smelled delicious!

Thank you to all of the reviewers before me. My family ( husband and 2 kids ages of 12 and 14) and I agree that this restaurant was very good. The food was tasty and the servers were friendly and responsive. We ate yellow curry, mussamun curry, pad thai, and shrimp salad with a yummy chili lime dressing. Portion size was quite good but not huge like another reviewer said. It was not a hole in the wall as others wrote. I'd describe it as simple and comfortable. And yes, it was clean. Prices were very reasonable which was a big plus. I'd say that if you are driving through, and in the mood for Thai food, you should try it.

This is a little gem in a small town without much diversity - The Asian population is Red Bluff is small and I have no doubt that a large portion of the people that lived there have never had Thai food. I ordered Pad Thai, Pad Garlic (Stir Fry) and Yellow Curry - All were very tasty. I like spicy Thai food but since I was ordering for the fam I got mild, which still had great flavor. This may not be the best Thai food in the world but it is definitely up at the top of my list. Mmmmmmmm!!! Try it, you wont be disappointed!

Try the Pad Thai, "Thai Hot". Really good place for the local chileheads to get their fix.

We came into town, famished and tired, left feeling great. We had chicken Pra Ram and chicken with cashew and veggies. Both were cooked and spiced perfectly and as ordered. With a Thai beer, a weary pair of travelers could not ask for more. Recommended! And, bonus, cooked just for us and healthy as well.

Big city Thai food in rural northern California. The food is fabulous, the service is solid and the prices are more than fair. Been there a dozen times and we'll be back for more.

Honestly, I've moved to Sacramento, and I can't find Thai food as good as this place. The curries are delicious and spicy, the prices are low and the service is excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

we have loved this little place for some time now... however, in the last 6 months the cleanliness of the facility has left some concern. This last time (about two weeks ago) we ordered to go food... when we were eating at home we discovered "a dead bug" in our meal!! I will never go here again. Still disturbs me to this day!! It's a shame...

What a find! We were on our way back to the bay area and stopped in here for a late lunch. The food was one of the beat Thai meals we've had, San Francisco included. The waitress was helpful and fun. If you are ever in the area, try it out!

Very impressed with the quality of food especially being that this is in red bluff, which honestly isn't known for great ethnic food. My take out included Pad Thai and roast duck curry. Both were very flavorful and the pad thai was not overly sweet like it usually is. Portion size isn't the greatest but it fits the bill. Take out containers were the tougher plastic kind that doesnt leak easily and the pad thai was nicely contained in foil. Overall I was very happy with the meal and I'll definitely be back.

We were stuck in Red Bluff overnight and looking for food, and were resigning ourselves to bad Italian, cheap stomach-destroying Mexican, or getting stuff from a grocery store and making sandwiches in our hotel room. While cruising around town looking for something decent that might be vaguely vegetarian, we spotted Thai House and decided to stop, because at least bad Thai would be better than most of our other options. Imagine our surprise when it turned out to be some of the best Thai food we'd ever had. My young lady friend enjoyed some of the Tom Yum soup, which she usually finds disappointing, but said it was delicious and spicy. (They spice things to order, and they're one of the few places that take her seriously when she asked for very spicy food.) The raw spring rolls were nicely balanced, with enough sweet basil to add a pleasant tang. The sweet basil and garlic tofu was similarly tasty. The service was similarly great-- I believe our food was brought to us by the owner, who was chatty enough to be friendly but not so much that he was intrusive. The beer was cold, the curry was hot, and we were all happy and stuffed. We've been back through twice since our first visit and each time the food has been similarly good. I can't recommend this place enough. It's about halfway between home and the rest of my family, so we've already made it a regular stop on our way up and down I-5.

Four of us had a delightful dinner here, during an overnight stop at a nearby motel. One member of our party is extremely fussy about Thai food, and even she was satisfied. The service was excellent. We liked this place so much that we considered going out of our way to return on our way home from our trip.
